Well we’re riddled with colds at Melodic towers as is the nation it seems, there’s tons going on and normally we’d be super enthusiastic but today we’re a bit miserable and feeling sorry for ourselves. Us bad boys have not been good enough to tell you about it all in a while, so, let’s atone….

Nuclear Power? Yes please!

Melodic’s most recent signings Working For A Nuclear Free City, as well as having the current longest name in rock and their debut album released on 16th October, also have some choice live dates. They play THAT MANCHESTER festival this weekend www.blowout.org.uk as well as the rather special Novosonic festival in Dijon, France on 28th October http://www.myspace.com/novosonic also, Pitchfork have a track available for download here if you want to try them out for size.

We Are Sale-ing

Remember, you can always buy our records online around a week or so before their release in the shops from our very own shop: download shop. And, like HMV and just about everyone else, we’ve cottoned onto the fact that you can often buy quite old classic albums on CD fairly cheap. So, with the Melodic back catalogue there’s now the chance to buy some great albums from the ‘olden days’ for Just £6 – have a check and see what you can find.

More Reasons

Harrisons have been on something of a hiatus in terms of live shows and singles and stuff but return with an American Pop Band remix of next single Mondays Arms. It’s a very limited, numbered 12" out now. The ‘proper’ version of Mondays Arms will be released in the new year. The album is being recorded as you read this with producer Hugh Jones so we’re all very excited. Once finished you’ll be able to hear the tracks first at the following live dates:

November

25th - Sheffield Plug
27th – Birmingham Bar Academy
28th – Newcastle Digital
29th – Glasgow King Tuts
30th – Aberdeen Tunnels

December

2nd – Leeds Faversham
4th – Manchester Night and Day

The Various

Department Of Eagles’ Romo-Goth / Sailing By Night single (featuring remixes from Tunng and Daedelus) is out this week. If you haven’t yet, you must check the fantastic video from our friends Mistakes Aloud… here..but for something equally entertaining, check Dan from DofE’s sitar playing here.

Baikonour has just composed the music for a new prog on Radio Canada. You can listen to it online here.

That’s all for now.
