IOSS
Important: please read
The IOSS scheme allows us to collect VAT during checkout, meaning that it isn't due when your order lands in your country.
However, there are some complications:
- Any order above €150 (c. £125) cannot ship via IOSS.
- To cover the admin costs of the IOSS scheme we have to charge an extra £1.00 per order.
- The IOSS system isn't foolproof, and orders that have shipped via IOSS are occasionally picked up by customs.
- (Orders that ship via Tracked/Insured services are less likely than Airmail services to cause IOSS mistakes.)
- We're not foolproof, and orders that should have gone via IOSS sometimes don't go via IOSS.
IOSS and customs mistakes
If an order that we ship via IOSS and that you have paid VAT on already does still get charged by customs, don't panic. It's usually just a mistake that can be fixed by contacting customs and explaining that the order shipped via IOSS with VAT already paid.
If this does happen to you then we suggest the following:
- Contact us before speaking to customs.
- We will check that the order definitely went via IOSS.
- We will provide the IOSS shipping label and VAT receipt as evidence.
- Once you have the label and receipt, contact customs for assistance.
If that doesn't work then contact us again and we'll ask our shipping provider to investigate.
