It may indeed be High Pressure Days for W. H. Lung, as they prepare for their debut headline US tour & ready their third full-length LP. Ahead of their journey across the States they offer a taste of the sound that's garnered them a reputation as one of the best live bands in the UK. Eagle-eared gig goers might have noticed the song sneak into the end of W. H. Lung's live set of late, already bedding in as a firm favourite.

Like their live shows, the track finds the band at their most direct. High Pressure Days is a stomp through a busy city, hustling along like a rush hour train behind schedule, the joint vocals of Joseph Evans & Hannah Peace lost running through block after block of frantic drums & squealing theremin. Recorded in the band's new Salford studio Futuro House, started with local pals The Orielles & the track's co-producer Lewis Johnson-Kellett, they've crafted a bustling downtown of modulor synths & wayward guitars.

Originally released in 1979 by San Francisco synth-punk The Units, High Pressure Days has always felt adjacent to W. H. Lung's contemporary take on electronic pop, their cover is a satisfying homage that slips comfortably amongst the band's previous output.
